Details

Peeling is a well-known treatment used for some time in cosmetic medicine. I personally find that, in many cases, it has been surpassed by Laser Technology regarding many specific occurrences (e.g. acne outcomes, dilated pores, resurfacing, etc.), but it remains an excellence for the treatment of deep skin spots such as melasma or chloasma gravidarum. Among the most popular ones are PRX and Retinol Peel.

There are different products available, with different concentrations and types of substances. Each substance has a different indication.

  • Salicylic Acid (SA): Comedonic and inflammatory mild to moderate acne.
  • Mandelic Acid (MA): Rosacea in the telengectatic phase, chemoexfoliation in the summer season.
  • Glycolic Acid (GA): Melasma, lentigo and photo-aging.
  • Pyruvic Acid (PA): Seborrheic dermatitis, erythrosis, active acne.
  • Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA): acne scars, white stretch marks, ketatosis.
