The carboxytherapy treatment allows safe results against cellulite. The treatment, fast and completely painless, oxygenates, drains and regenerates the tissues.
In addition, this procedure improves skin quality (texture) by increasing its elasticity. For this reason, the treatment is very effective in preparation for surgery and in the post-procedure period to reduce subcutaneous edema.
Carboxytherapy has multiple applications.
The treatment relies on a chemical-physical effect called "Bohr effect".
By increasing the concentration of carbon dioxide in the subcutaneous tissue, through direct inoculation with a very fine needle, the oxygen present in the blood is transferred to the tissues. In short, the oxygen linked to hemoglobin present in the blood is released to the cells of the subcutaneous tissue.
The increased oxygenation of the tissues improves the metabolism of the cells and promotes their regeneration. This results in an increased number of capillaries and lymphatic vessels, fibroblasts, elastin and collagen.
These are the structural changes that guarantee the result in carboxy therapy treatment.
Improved circulation allows excess fluid to drain, reducing the effect of heaviness in the legs and skin irregularities (orange peel skin).
The increase in the number of fibroblasts and therefore elastin and collagen, on the other hand, allows the skin to regain its youth with increased brightness and elasticity.
Carboxytherapy is a safe method since CO2 is absorbed into the tissues without forming bubbles, thus excluding the possibility of generating embolisms.
The procedure is not recommended in cases of severe anemia and pregnancy.
